  • What are the basic types of lighting?

    There are three basic types of lighting including:

    • Ambient (general lighting) 
    • Task 
    • Accent 

  • What are the rules for hanging a chandelier?

    In general, the height of the main source of light should be 30″-36″ above the table. There should be a minimum of 150 watts total in the chandelier. At our chandelier store, we provide an array of different chandelier choices as well as chandelier repair services. 

  • What is the difference between floor lamps & torchieres?

    Floor lamps are usually needed to provide task lighting for reading, homework, etc. Floor lamps can have different lamp shades as well. They provide a downward beam of light. Torchieres reflect light upward off the ceiling and walls for ambient effects, often making ceilings seem higher and rooms feel larger.

  • What types of home décor do you offer at your home décor store?

  • How do I clean light fixtures?

    Warm water and a few drops of mild dish soap should be sufficient in cleaning a glass light fixture. Allow them to soak for a few minutes before wiping them down and rinsing. If you have questions on how to clean a specific fixture in our lighting store, ask one of our knowledgeable team members!

  • Do my lamps in my family room have to match?

    If the lamps in your family room are fine art lamps with similar aesthetics and/or color, they do not need to match. When doing two different lamps in general, they need to be connected by color or style in some way to still give a cohesive look in the room. Our lamp store has a wide variety of lamps with matching ones in stock to ensure you can achieve whatever look you are going for.

  • Does every wall of a room have to have décor on it or should some walls be empty?

    No, you should pick walls to focus on & put home decor on while the other walls in the room should be blank. You don't want every wall to be competing with each other. Our home decor store offers many items to decorate your walls with, so be sure to come visit us!

  • Where should I put clocks in my house?

    Clocks work best in the family room and kitchen areas as they are some of the most frequented rooms in the house. Dining rooms can benefit from having clocks in them, too.

  • How do I know if I need to look into chandelier repairs?

    It can be difficult to tell if your chandelier needs repair work, but if yours had stopped working, lights are flickering, you've found rust, or you've bought a pre-owned chandelier, it is a good idea to have one of our professionals take a look at it.

  • How long will lamp or chandelier repairs take?

    It depends on the scope of the project, but there's nothing we love more than restoring an old lamp or chandelier to its original, pristine condition. We have the parts and the tools needed to get the job done in a timely manner and make your piece as good as new. 

  • What are your store hours?

    We are open Monday-Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and closed on Sunday.
